Course DescriptionRecent changes in the US regarding same-sex marriage and the Illinois Parentage Act of 2015 have changed the way parentage is legally established in IL. This course will explore the current state of the law as it applies to custody cases in Illinois. Family law attorney Colleen Breems will discuss the history and evolution of parentage cases in IL, the key changes made by the 2015 act, issues regarding DNA testing, and common parentage case motions. She will also provide valuable guidance for family law attorneys filing their first Parentage case.
